Tropical field blouse: The field blouse was made of brown tropical fabric. The basic design and cut as the field-grey field blouse, but with open collar and fashioned lapels. There were five brown anchor buttons on the front. The uppermost button was positioned under the right lapel, and there was a buttonhole on the left lapel, serving to button the blouse up to the collar. The front of the blouse was actually buttoned with four buttons. Two breast pockets and two hip pockets were of the pleated patch type, with scalloped buttoned flaps.

There were three eyelets positioned in the lateral waistline seams and sometimes also on either front for the brown belt hooks. The hooks were supported on the inside by tapes of double-laid fabric with eyelets that were sewn on above the eye of the blouse. The blouse was lined on the shoulders with brown tropical fabric or with white lining fabric. Five to nine eyelets for ventilation were positioned in the armpits. The buttons were normally detachable, attached by split-rings in eyelets.

Variation models of the field blouse had an approximately 15cm wide open cuff or 10 – 12cm wide “false cuff” that was marked by a seam around the sleeves. There were also blouses with inside breast pockets made of lining cloth. The pocket pleats were omitted about 1943, and the pocket flaps became rectangular…….
