Reefer Jacket: The reefer jacket was made of navy blue fine quality cloth (worsted fabric, doeskin cloth, serge or similar cloth). Jackets of officers were without back slash. However, regulations of 1932 required a 20cm long back slash for jackets of senior NCOs (with the left edge reaching over the right edge). Since 1935 at the latest, the back slash was omitted. Regulation jacket length was so that it covered the seat. However, individual preferences and fashion influences frequently accounted for shorter lengths and variances in the lapels..
